Graduate Engineer, Urban Infrastructure

About the role

Join SMEC’s Urban Infrastructure team in Melbourne as a Graduate Civil Engineer. You will be part of a structured Graduate Development Program, working on some of Australia’s most complex infrastructure projects while receiving mentorship from industry leaders.

Key responsibilities

• Contribute to the delivery of major industry projects and local community initiatives.
• Assist in preparing proposals, reports, and other project documentation.
• Collaborate with supportive colleagues through a buddy system.
• Participate in industry events, networking opportunities, and graduate development workshops.

Required profile

• Final‑year civil engineering student or graduate within the last two years.
• Strong interpersonal and written communication skills.
• Positive attitude, willingness to learn, and ability to manage time and workload effectively.
• Developed knowledge of analytical methods, tools, and engineering principles.
