Graduate Electrical Engineer

About the role

EMtek, a multidisciplinary engineering company offering services across structural, mechanical, process, piping, civil, electrical, instrumentation, functional safety, process control, communications and software engineering, is looking for a motivated Graduate Electrical Engineer. The role supports a diverse portfolio of projects in a professional but friendly environment, and is full time, based in the Brisbane, Melbourne or Perth office.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in delivering electrical engineering design and control system solutions, including electrical systems, control system software, PLC programming, SCADA configuration, functional testing and commissioning.
• Prepare electrical specifications, technical documentation, user manuals, system manuals and other design deliverables under the guidance of senior engineers.
• Support the development and review of electrical engineering documentation, control system software and project deliverables in line with design documentation, standards and project requirements.
• Configure and develop SCADA systems to meet project functional, operational and technical needs.
• Build knowledge of Australian Standards, industry design codes and engineering tools.
• Prepare test plans and carry out functional testing of electrical hardware and control system software.
• Help prepare engineering estimates, quotations and technical inputs for project proposals.
• Represent EMtek professionally with clients and on site visits.
• Take ownership of professional development through mentoring, feedback, practical application and contributions to the company's knowledge base.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree (or near completion) in Electrical Engineering or a closely related discipline.
• Genuine interest in the resources, mining or heavy industrial sector.
• Collaborative team player with strong communication, organisational and problem-solving skills.
