Grade 2 Physiotherapist – Gerontology (Bundoora Centre)

About the role

We are seeking a Grade 2 Physiotherapist with a passion for gerontology to join the Physiotherapy team at Northern Health’s Bundoora Centre. The role is full‑time, fixed‑term until July 2028, and focuses on delivering high‑quality care to older patients on the Geriatric Evaluation and Management wards.

Key responsibilities

• Assess and treat patients with neurological, musculoskeletal and general physiotherapy needs on GEM wards.
• Organise, implement and develop physiotherapy care pathways and promote best practice.
• Supervise Grade 1 physiotherapists, allied health assistants and physiotherapy students on placement.
• Lead education initiatives for staff and students within the physiotherapy stream.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary health professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Required profile

• Significant experience in gerontology physiotherapy with high‑level clinical skills.
• Proven ability to manage complex older patients in a sub‑acute setting.
• Experience or strong interest in teaching undergraduate physiotherapy students and mentoring junior staff.
• Excellent interpersonal and collaborative skills.

Required skills

• Clinical assessment and treatment of geriatric patients.

• Supervision and mentorship of junior health professionals.
