Government Relations Officer

About the role

The Government Relations Officer will support ARENA’s mission to accelerate Australia’s renewable energy transition by coordinating government engagement, preparing briefing materials, and providing strategic insights to senior leaders.

Key responsibilities

• Lead ARENA’s government coordination function, responding to cross‑government requests and engaging internal stakeholders.
• Assist in developing and executing government relations and international engagement strategies.
• Coordinate preparation of Senate Estimates briefings, Questions on Notice responses, and ministerial briefs.
• Produce daily updates on government and energy sector news for the Board and staff.
• Maintain the Government Relations stakeholder management system and track relationships.
• Research domestic and international engagement opportunities for the agency.
• Build strong working relationships across ARENA, especially with Marketing & Communications and Impact Teams.
