GL & Tax Subject Matter Expert – SAP

About the role

The GL & Tax Subject Matter Expert (SME) will provide functional expertise for the ANZ SAP S/4 implementation, working closely with the Stream Lead, project team and business stakeholders to design, document and validate processes.

Key responsibilities

• Provide GL & Tax domain input across design, build and deployment phases.
• Document and validate current‑state processes, business requirements and pain points.
• Support future‑state process and solution design aligned to SAP S/4.
• Participate in workshops, review and validate proposed process/system changes.
• Assist with issue and risk management, including escalation when required.
• Contribute to testing activities: scenario input, execution support, defect triage and outcome validation.
• Support change and readiness activities such as process documentation, training inputs and communications.
• Maintain strong stakeholder relationships and provide regular updates to the Stream Lead.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree with experience in process improvement, transformation or system‑related initiatives.
• Proven ability to document requirements, translate business needs into practical solutions and work with cross‑functional stakeholders.
• Experience supporting workshops, testing, training and implementation activities.
• Comfortable working in a changing environment with competing priorities.
• Willingness to travel on a routine basis.

Required skills

• SAP S/4 or other large‑scale ERP implementation experience (advantageous).
• Strong GL & Tax functional knowledge.
• Effective communication and collaboration in a matrix environment.
