GitHub Architect – DevOps (Contract)

About the role

We are seeking a senior GitHub Architect to lead the design, implementation, and governance of enterprise‑grade development workflows on the GitHub platform. This contract position will work closely with engineering, security, and product teams to deliver robust, scalable solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Architect scalable GitHub organizations, repository structures, and access controls that meet business and security requirements.
• Define and enforce governance policies for branch protection, repository lifecycle, and auditing.
• Lead migrations from Jenkins, Bitbucket, or Azure DevOps to GitHub, creating detailed roadmaps and execution plans.
• Implement GitHub Advanced Security controls, including secret scanning, dependency tracking, and code scanning.
• Develop custom, reusable GitHub Actions, runners, and CI/CD environments.
• Provide technical mentorship and act as a trusted advisor to development teams.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions.

Required profile

• Senior‑level professional with deep expertise in GitHub Enterprise administration and modern version‑control strategies.
• Strong consultative mindset and ability to communicate complex technical concepts to leadership.
• Proven experience delivering large‑scale platform migrations and security implementations.

• Advanced Git concepts (GitFlow, Trunk‑Based Development)
