Geriatric Medicine Registrar 2027

About the role

Mercy Health is recruiting a 2027 Geriatric Medicine Registrar for its Geriatric Evaluation and Management (GEM) and GEM@Home Unit, located at Werribee Mercy Hospital. The unit is a 30-bed inpatient ward providing specialist geriatric care, supervised by a Head of Unit and including Geriatricians, an Advanced Trainee, a BPT registrar, HMOs and an intern. It sits within a multidisciplinary team of medical, nursing and allied health staff, and Werribee Mercy Hospital is a teaching hospital of the University of Notre Dame.

Key responsibilities

• Provide patient-centred geriatric care in a 30-bed inpatient ward
• Take part in ward duties alongside a multidisciplinary team
• Contribute to ACAS rounds and specialist clinics

Required profile

• Valid full driver's licence
• Current police record check and working with children check
• Proof of current influenza vaccination and other vaccinations consistent with public health orders
• Valid AHPRA medical registration or having passed the AMC clinical exam, visa status and other documents listed in the original ad

The position is fixed-term, full-time, day/night/weekend shifts at 43 hours per week, with a salary of $57.71 to $79.44 depending on registrar year (Year 1 to Year 6).
