General Medicine Registrar – RACP Accredited Training

About the role

The General Medicine Registrar position is based in a major regional referral hospital in Queensland, offering a RACP‑accredited Basic Physician Training programme. You will work within a physician‑led department delivering both general and acute medicine services, gaining experience across inpatient and outpatient settings.

Key responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive inpatient and outpatient care for a wide range of medical conditions.
• Participate in acute general medicine duties, including management of complex presentations.
• Rotate through core subspecialties such as cardiology, medical oncology and nephrology as part of the training programme.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including consultants, senior registrars and allied health professionals.
• Undertake supervised procedural training and contribute to patient management plans under consultant supervision.

Required profile

• Medical graduate eligible for RACP Basic Physician Training.
• Commitment to a structured training pathway in general medicine.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced hospital environment and manage diverse clinical caseloads.
• Strong interest in internal medicine and its subspecialties.
