General Manager – Logistics

About the role

The General Manager – Logistics will lead the end‑to‑end logistics function for a $1 billion‑plus food manufacturing business operating nationally. Reporting to the COO, you will shape strategy, drive operational excellence and own the logistics budget across a dispersed network of sites.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute the national logistics strategy, including network design and operational delivery.
• Oversee inbound raw‑material flow, warehousing, inventory management and outbound distribution of finished goods.
• Manage fleet, 3PL partnerships and carrier networks, ensuring cold‑chain and ambient compliance.
• Participate in S&OP processes to align demand and supply with commercial and planning teams.
• Lead the logistics technology roadmap, integrating TMS, WMS and ERP systems.
• Direct a large, geographically dispersed logistics team and manage capital and operating budgets.
• Drive continuous improvement, network optimisation and ensure regulatory, food‑safety and WHS compliance.

Required profile

• 15+ years in logistics or supply‑chain leadership, including at least 5 years at a senior executive level.
• Proven success managing multisite logistics operations in FMCG or food manufacturing.
• Strong commercial acumen and experience partnering with sales, finance and operations at executive level.
• Demonstrated people‑leadership skills with a track record of building high‑performance, dispersed teams.
• Relevant tertiary qualifications in supply chain, logistics, engineering or business.
