General Manager Human Resources

About the role

Kia Australia is looking for a dynamic General Manager, Human Resources to lead the HR function and partner with executive leadership. Reporting to the CFO, you will shape and execute a people strategy that drives business growth, capability, and an inclusive high‑performance culture.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute a contemporary HR strategy aligned with business objectives.
• Partner with senior leaders on workforce planning, organisational design and capability uplift.
• Lead end‑to‑end talent strategy including acquisition, development, succession and retention.
• Drive performance management frameworks and leadership development initiatives.
• Champion an inclusive culture aligned to Kia’s values and lead employee engagement initiatives.
• Manage employee relations proactively, ensuring compliance with employment legislation, WHS and regulatory requirements.
• Oversee HR policies, processes and systems, and ensure effective delivery of payroll and HR operations.
• Lead remuneration, benefits and recognition frameworks and use HR metrics for continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business or related discipline.
• 10+ years of HR experience, including at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
• Strong knowledge of employment law, compliance and HR best practice.
• Proven ability to develop and execute HR strategies that deliver business results.
• Exceptional leadership, communication and stakeholder‑engagement skills.
