General Labourer - Entry Level Laboratory Support

About the role

Bureau Veritas is looking for reliable, motivated people to join its laboratory operations team in Wingfield, South Australia, in an entry-level General Labourer position within the Sample Preparation and Fire Assay departments. No previous laboratory experience is required, as full training is provided. The role is physically demanding and production-based, supporting the preparation of samples for laboratory analysis.

Key responsibilities

• Sort, weigh and process samples, and crush, split and pulverise them using specialised equipment
• Operate machinery and laboratory preparation equipment
• Assist with sample preparation for Fire Assay analysis
• Load and unload furnace trays and materials, and handle laboratory consumables and equipment
• Maintain sample traceability and accurate identification
• Follow quality, safety and operational procedures
• Keep the work area clean and organised

Required profile

• Available to work day, afternoon and night shifts on a rotating roster: 2 weeks day (7.00am-3.00pm), 2 weeks night (3.00pm-11.00pm), 2 weeks afternoon (11.00pm-7.00am)
• Physically fit, able to lift and carry 15-20kg regularly and stand, walk and bend for long periods
• Unlimited Australian working rights
• Willing to wear PPE, including respiratory protection
• Reliable, safety-focused, detail-oriented and able to follow procedures; previous experience in labouring, warehousing, manufacturing, production, logistics, construction or industrial processing is advantageous but not essential
