General Farmhand - Mixed Farming Near Hyden, WA

About the role

A mixed farming operation near Hyden, Western Australia, is looking for a Farmhand or Senior Farmhand. The business runs about 1,500 hectares of cropping alongside a 4,000-head sheep enterprise, offering year-round variety. The owner wants to build a long-term team rather than rely on seasonal labour, and is open to a senior employee, a developing farmhand or both.

Key responsibilities

• Machinery operation, seeding and harvest, and spraying operations
• Sheep husbandry and livestock handling
• General farm maintenance, basic mechanical repairs and servicing, fencing and property work
• Working across both cropping and livestock enterprises

Required profile

• Previous farming experience in cropping, livestock or mixed farming
• Ability to work independently and take responsibility for tasks
• Practical mechanical aptitude highly regarded
• Willingness to learn and develop new skills
• Current driver's licence
• Positive attitude and strong work ethic
