Functional Specialist Reporting - Single Digital Patient Record

About the role

Single Digital Patient Record (SDPR), part of NSW Health, is recruiting a Functional Specialist Reporting (Health Manager Level 3) for a temporary full-time position of up to 2 years, based in the Chatswood/St Leonards offices. The role bridges the gap between SDPR's clients and technical staff, gathering requirements and producing reports, extracts and dashboards. Applications close on 12 November 2026.

Key responsibilities

• Gather and analyse business and technical requirements to support solution design and delivery
• Prepare detailed program specification documents describing client business workflow, data and application functionality
• Configure reports and dashboards in Epic
• Assist with testing so reporting content meets business needs
• Support testing, training and transition activities for new systems
• Provide expert advice and high-level analysis to support IT projects, and develop business cases aligned with strategic objectives
• Translate complex technical concepts into clear insights for non-technical audiences

Required profile

• Proven experience in business analysis for reporting systems, BI or data warehousing, including writing technical specifications and understanding the software development lifecycle
• Health sector experience with administrative and/or clinical workflows and systems such as Cerner Millennium or similar
• Consultation skills to gather, document and validate requirements with end users and subject matter experts
• Experience supporting user acceptance testing and training
• Current Australian work rights; eligibility for a talent pool for similar roles over the next 18 months

Required skills
