Full Stack Engineer

About the role

Join the People & Culture Technology Engineering team at Macquarie as a Full Stack Engineer. You will help deliver digital transformation across employment, recruitment, learning and talent management by building fast, reliable web applications.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop dynamic, high‑quality web applications using Node.js, Python, React or Angular.
• Build and maintain RESTful APIs and integrate them with front‑end components.
• Collaborate closely with UI/UX designers to translate designs into responsive interfaces.
• Write, debug, test and optimise code to ensure performance and scalability.
• Work with cross‑functional teams including developers, product managers and designers to meet project goals and deadlines.

Required profile

• Strong proficiency in TypeScript and solid experience with React.
• Extensive experience developing back‑end services with Node.js and Python.
• Hands‑on experience creating RESTful APIs and containerising services with Docker.
• Knowledge of modern authentication (JWT) and SQL databases such as PostgreSQL.
• Familiarity with event‑driven platforms like Kafka; exposure to LLM integration and AI tooling is a plus.
