Front-End Software Engineer – Google Photos

About the role

Google Photos is expanding its web experience and needs a Front-End Software Engineer to design, build, and improve user‑facing features. You will work on a high‑impact product used by billions, collaborating with cross‑functional teams to deliver new capabilities and enhance the overall architecture.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, test, and ship front‑end features for the Google Photos web application.
• Identify, design, and implement architectural improvements to improve performance, scalability, and maintainability.
• Collaborate with product, design, and backend engineers to deliver end‑to‑end solutions.
• Diagnose and resolve code and system health issues, ensuring high reliability.
• Contribute to accessibility initiatives to make the product usable for all users.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• At least 2 years of software development experience in one or more programming languages, or 1 year with an advanced degree.
• Strong foundation in data structures and algorithms.
• Experience building web software products.
