Freight Coordinator

About the role

Team Global Express is looking for a Freight Coordinator / Same Day Consultant to join its Melbourne Airport team. This permanent full‑time position involves coordinating urgent, time‑critical freight movements across Same Day and Premium Services, ensuring safe and on‑time delivery while providing exceptional customer service.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate Same Day and Premium Services freight from booking to delivery, allocating jobs to drivers, subcontractors and service providers.
• Monitor freight movements, track consignments and manage delivery performance throughout the day.
• Communicate with customers, drivers and operational teams to provide updates, manage expectations and resolve service issues.
• Prepare quotes, process bookings, and handle inbound and outbound customer enquiries via phone, email and Salesforce.
• Ensure accurate Proof of Delivery, maintain records in internal systems and uphold safety and compliance procedures.

Required profile

• Previous experience in transport, logistics, courier, freight forwarding or a fast‑paced operational environment (preferred but not mandatory).
• Strong customer service and stakeholder management skills with the ability to build relationships at all levels.
• Excellent communication, problem‑solving abilities and attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a time‑sensitive environment.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Experience using operational systems such as Salesforce.
