Food Services Assistant / Housekeeper - Aged Care

About the role

Estia Health Glen Waverley, an aged care home serving the east Melbourne community, is looking for an experienced Food Services Assistant and Housekeeper/Cleaner to join its team on a permanent part-time or casual basis. The home sits on a quiet residential street, backs onto Bogong Reserve and is close to local shops and buses.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare food and drink
• Clean, including washing dishes
• Change the menu by working with the team and residents to create meals suited to each person
• Maintain records as part of the Food Safety Program
• Stay active and on your feet for most of the shift
• Keep the home clean, hygienic and safe, and deliver high standards of cleanliness and safety
• Auditing and site inspections to maintain hygiene standards

Required profile

• Experience in kitchen work (aged care experience is a bonus)
• Completed the Basic Food Handling Course
• Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to Work, Health and Safety principles
• Positive, warm, empathetic and can-do attitude
