Flooding & Stormwater Engineer

About the role

The Flooding & Stormwater Engineer will join Egis Group’s Queensland Stormwater and Flooding team, delivering innovative water‑sensitive urban design, hydrological investigations and flood modelling across a diverse portfolio of projects.

Key responsibilities

• Undertake flood studies, impact assessments and stormwater management plans.
• Develop hydraulic, hydrological and water‑balance models, including 1D and 2D flood modelling.
• Prepare civil engineering calculations for WSUD infrastructure and erosion‑sediment control plans.
• Create GIS databases and maps using QGIS, ArcGIS or MapInfo.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 + years of professional experience in flood and stormwater engineering within a consultancy.
• Tertiary degree in civil engineering or a related discipline.
• Effective written and verbal communication, strong analytical and organisational skills.

Required skills

• GIS software: QGIS, ArcGIS, MapInfo.
• Hydrology tools: WBNM, URBS, XP‑RAFTS, RORB.
• Hydraulic modelling: TUFLOW, HEC‑RAS.
• Water‑quality modelling: MUSIC.
