Float Legal Secretary

About the role

MCCabes, an Australian commercial, government and insurance law firm, is looking for an experienced float legal secretary to join its team on a full-time basis. The role is based in the Sydney CBD office and involves working with and supporting a variety of practice groups in person across the Sydney offices and remotely to national offices as required.

Key responsibilities

• Daily reception cover
• Diary management
• File maintenance
• Preparing legal documents
• Billing and client reporting
• Opening and closing files
• General administrative duties

Required profile

• Experienced legal secretary with exposure to a variety of areas of law
• Minimum 2 years' legal secretary experience
• Previous experience supporting fee earners at all levels
• Previous experience in a float position preferred but not essential
• Legally permitted to work in Australia

Required skills

• Attention to detail and accuracy, and strong organisational skills
• Ability to manage and prioritise multiple tasks and provide excellent client service
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Ability to draft correspondence and documents
• Strong Microsoft Office skills
• Experience with iManage and Aderant preferred but not essential
