Financial Controller

About the role

We are looking for a highly capable and commercially‑minded Financial Controller to lead the finance function of Cooinda Lodge Kakadu, a resort operating under an Accor Hotel Management Agreement in the Northern Territory. The role will ensure accurate financial reporting, control of income and expenses, and support strategic decision‑making.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with the General Manager and hotel leadership to develop and monitor financial strategy and performance.
• Prepare and deliver weekly, monthly and annual financial reports to Accor and ownership groups.
• Lead budgeting, forecasting, cash‑flow management and long‑term financial planning.
• Oversee payroll processing, ensuring compliance with legislative requirements.
• Provide financial guidance on management agreements, owners corporation matters and HMA compliance.
• Drive continuous improvement of financial systems, controls, policies and reporting processes.
• Support department heads with analysis, reporting and commercial insights to improve profitability.
• Ensure adherence to Accor financial policies, WH&S obligations and all statutory and legislative requirements.

Required profile

• Tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance, Commerce or related discipline.
• CA or CPA qualification.
• Minimum five years’ experience as a Financial Controller or similar role within the hospitality industry.
• Strong knowledge of Australian tax, superannuation, long‑service leave and National Employment Standards.
• Proven ability to work with senior stakeholders and influence financial decisions.

Required skills

• Proficiency with accounting and payroll systems, particularly Sunsystems, PurchasePlus and OperaCloud.
• High attention to detail and strong commercial mindset.
