Financial Accounting Manager

About the role

Airnorth is looking for a Financial Accounting Manager to join its busy Finance Team. The role involves travelling between Perth and Darwin to support the finance teams at both locations. The manager supports the GM Finance in delivering month-end management and annual statutory accounts for the Capiteq Group, manages the day-to-day Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable and Payroll operations, and holds financial oversight of all entities in the Group.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage the Revenue, Payroll, AR and AP teams, ensuring compliance and timely completion of tasks, including delegation of duties
• Liaise with auditors
• Oversee production of customer invoices, credit control, weekly debtor report comments and Days Sales Outstanding performance
• Supervise the Payroll Officer and ensure accurate, on-time processing of payroll transactions
• Maintain internal financial reporting consistent with group standards, monthly balance sheet reconciliations, monthly Business Activity Statements and statutory reports
• Maintain FBT accounts and records, support the GM Finance with reporting schedules and budgetary control, and manage cash flow and cash flow forecasting

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of relevant or transferrable experience in financial accounting for a medium to large company, including managing a finance team
• CPA or CA qualified
• Ability to work independently and be self-motivated, with strong numeracy and literacy and the ability to interpret legislation
• Analytical, problem-solving approach with attention to detail
• Advanced written and verbal communication skills and familiarity with a SOX environment
• Legal right to live and work in Australia without restrictions

Required skills

• Advanced computer skills, particularly MS Excel
• Preferred: exposure to the aviation industry and/or Greentree accounting software (not essential)
