Finance Support Officer

About the role

KBR is seeking a highly organised Finance Support Officer to join its Defence team in Canberra. You will act as a trusted partner to the System Program Office, providing financial administration, budget management, procurement support and reporting services for critical Defence projects.

Key responsibilities

• Create, maintain and amend Purchase Orders and Outline Agreements within Defence ERP systems.
• Validate vendor invoices, coordinate invoice processing and support timely payments.
• Maintain detailed budget plans, forecasts and perform variance analysis.
• Partner with Project and Product Managers to deliver financial advice and support decision‑making.
• Support audit, assurance and governance activities, ensuring compliance with financial policies.

Required profile

• Qualifications in Finance (preferred) and experience in financial administration, budgeting, procurement or contract management.
• Strong analytical ability, attention to detail and excellent stakeholder engagement skills.
• Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines in a complex environment.
• Active NV1 Defence Security Clearance (or higher) is mandatory.

Required skills

• Experience with Defence ERP systems and financial management tools.
• Proficiency in procurement and contract administration processes.
