Finance Officer

About the role

We are seeking a Finance Officer to support financial operations within Queensland Health’s Rockhampton service. The role involves processing accruals, journal entries and file transfers while ensuring data integrity in the Finance and Materials Management System.

Key responsibilities

• Process accruals, journals and file transfers, maintaining accurate financial records.
• Assist in the preparation of Annual Financial Statements and compliance activities.
• Ensure adherence to legislation, policies, accounting guidelines and government standards.
• Collaborate with finance teams, the Corporate Office and health service stakeholders to deliver consistent financial services.
• Provide customer service by responding to inquiries, resolving issues and maintaining stakeholder relationships.
• Manage competing priorities, meet deadlines and contribute to continuous improvement of procedures and manuals.

Required profile

• Strong knowledge of computerised financial management systems, databases and spreadsheet applications.
• Solid understanding of financial legislation, policies, procedures and government accounting standards.
• Ability to prioritise workloads, manage tasks and maintain high data integrity and accuracy.
• Collaborative team player focused on achieving unit goals.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for building professional relationships.
