Finance Manager – Legal Services

About the role

The client is a fast‑growing law firm seeking a Finance Manager to own and scale the finance function. You will lead a small team, oversee core accounting processes and drive improvements that keep pace with the firm’s rapid expansion.

Key responsibilities

• Own financial accounting and reporting, including month‑end close and balance‑sheet integrity.
• Manage trust accounting to ensure compliance with legal trust obligations.
• Run accounts payable with robust controls to guarantee timely, accurate supplier payments.
• Lead, coach and develop a small finance team, providing clear direction and technical support.
• Identify and remediate process gaps, streamline workflows and automate where appropriate.

Required profile

• CA/CPA qualified with strong financial accounting and reporting experience.
• Legal sector experience preferred; professional services finance background acceptable.
• Proven people‑leadership managing a small team on a day‑to‑day basis.
• Demonstrated track record of delivering process‑improvement initiatives.
• Ability to stay composed under pressure and build credibility with senior stakeholders.
