Finance Manager - Healthcare (Hybrid)

About the role

A privately owned, high-growth healthcare group delivering specialist diagnostic services across regional Victoria (revenue above $40m) has created a new Finance Manager position reporting directly to the CFO. The business is scaling fast and needs a finance leader to build scalable processes and turn financial data into commercial insight, while supporting expansion and potential acquisition activity. The role starts in January 2027 and is hybrid, with three days onsite in Ballarat.

Key responsibilities

• Lead month-end and year-end reporting, including monthly management accounts and board packs
• Manage budgeting, forecasting and cash flow planning
• Deliver financial analysis and insights to the executive team and work with operational leaders to improve performance and profitability
• Support the CFO with strategic projects, business cases, investment analysis, financial modelling and acquisition opportunities
• Review and streamline payroll, rostering and specialist medical staff commission calculations
• Identify opportunities to automate manual processes using technology, reporting tools and potentially AI
• Build dashboards and data packs in Power BI and set clear performance metrics across the business
• Oversee AP, AR and payroll, mentor the existing finance team and maintain strong controls and governance

Required profile

• CA or CPA qualification
• Previous experience as a Finance Manager or as a strong Senior Accountant
• Track record of improving systems, processes and controls
• Strong stakeholder management and business partnering skills
• Experience in healthcare, professional services or labour-intensive environments is highly regarded
• Payroll and commission structure experience is advantageous

• Strong financial modelling and analytical skills
• Power BI experience building dashboards and reporting solutions
