Finance Business Partner

About the role

The Finance Business Partner will act as the primary commercial advisor to site leadership at the flagship manufacturing facility in Clayton, Victoria. This role bridges production operations and financial outcomes, translating shop‑floor data into robust financial models, forecasts and margin analyses.

Key responsibilities

• Develop annual operating budgets, quarterly rolling forecasts and volume models for production lines.
• Establish and refine standard costing frameworks, BOMs, labour rates and machine overhead allocations.
• Conduct deep‑dive variance analysis on material yields, labour efficiency and rate absorption to eliminate margin leakage.
• Build custom financial models for product margins, pricing structures, project tenders and contract profitability.
• Lead site inventory accounting, including WIP tracking, cycle counting, stock valuation and working‑capital optimisation.
• Execute month‑end close activities and deliver executive reporting packages.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Accounting, Finance or related field.
• CA or CPA qualification (or actively pursuing).
• Experience as a Commercial Analyst, Cost Accountant, FP&A Analyst or Management Accountant in manufacturing or heavy‑technology sectors.
• Strong communication skills to engage with plant managers, engineers and senior executives.

Required skills

• Advanced Microsoft Excel (financial modelling, nested formulas, Power Query).
• Technical knowledge of standard costing, activity‑based costing and manufacturing variance analysis.
• Hands‑on experience with manufacturing ERP platforms and inventory management databases.
