Field Services Officer - Metering

About the role

Unitywater is looking for a Field Services Officer to support the accuracy and reliability of its metering services. You will work in the field, visiting sites to verify meter readings, check meter condition and compliance, find access issues and investigate discrepancies in metering data. The role sits in the Customer Experience team, reporting to the Metering Services Manager, and suits someone who enjoys working independently in the field while contributing to a close-knit team.

This is a 12-month maximum term contract with potential for permanency, based at the Maroochydore head office, starting as soon as possible.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out site visits to verify meter readings and assess meter condition and compliance
• Identify access issues and investigate discrepancies in metering data
• Work with internal teams and external service providers and plan daily work schedules
• Maintain accurate records so metering information supports reliable customer billing and service delivery

Required profile

• Current C Class driver's licence and comfort travelling to customer sites across the region
• Experience in field-based work, inspections, data collection or a similar role, with the ability to verify information accurately
• Strong attention to detail and ability to spot discrepancies and interpret information
• Good written and verbal communication skills and ability to build relationships with teams, service providers and customers
• Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather and committed to workplace health and safety

Required skills

• Confident use of Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word) and mobile apps for records and communication
• Ability to plan and prioritise daily work, organise travel routes and meet deadlines
