Field Service Technician – Heavy Equipment

About the role

As a Field Service Technician with Komatsu Australia, you will ensure that heavy equipment and machinery operate safely and efficiently on‑site across Townsville, Collinsville and the Bowen Basin. You will join the Site Support team, providing maintenance, troubleshooting and repairs while delivering high‑quality service to our customers.

Key responsibilities

• Perform routine and corrective maintenance on Komatsu heavy equipment and related machinery.
• Diagnose faults, troubleshoot issues and carry out repairs to restore equipment to operational condition.
• Ensure all work complies with safety standards and company quality procedures.
• Document service activities and report findings to relevant stakeholders.
• Travel to remote sites as required, working autonomously and managing your own schedule.

Required profile

• Mobile plant trade certificate or equivalent qualification.
• Proven experience maintaining and repairing Komatsu equipment or similar heavy machinery.
• Strong relationship‑building skills with internal teams and external customers.
• Ability to work unsupervised, solve problems independently and communicate effectively.
• Commitment to safety and willingness to work in remote locations.

Required skills

• Mobile plant trade certificate
• Valid MR Class Driver’s Licence (desirable)
