Field Engineer

About the role

Genetec is seeking a Field Engineer to deliver remote and on‑site professional services for its security and surveillance solutions. The role involves technical support, system deployment, audits and acting as the primary liaison between Genetec and its customers.

Key responsibilities

• Perform technical support, installation, audit, assessment and maintenance of Genetec systems both remotely and at customer sites.
• Serve as the primary technical point of contact for key projects and maintain strong relationships with new and existing customers.
• Document issues in the trouble‑ticket system and CRM tool, and ensure timely escalation and resolution of critical problems.
• Provide consulting on upgrades, best practices, software implementation, integration and change requests, and deliver required reporting.

Required profile

• Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
• Experience in customer service, technical support or project management with strong analytical and communication skills.
• Ability to travel 30‑40% of the time and manage multiple priorities autonomously.

Required skills

• Administration and troubleshooting of Windows operating systems (Active Directory, IIS, GPO, performance monitoring, etc.).
• Strong knowledge of networking principles, IP protocols, SAN/NAS/iSCSI storage and server virtualization.
• Deployment and troubleshooting of CCTV, IP cameras, video matrices, DVRs, access control hardware and license‑plate‑recognition systems.
• Technical certifications such as MCSE, CCNA, SQL Server, VMware or similar.
• Programming/scripting skills: C#, Visual Basic, VBScript, PowerShell.
