Field Collections Officer

About the role

HOBAN Recruitment is recruiting a Field Collections Officer for an established Australian financial services organisation based in Sydney. The role is hands-on and field-based, suited to someone who works independently, meets people face-to-face and uses communication and negotiation skills to achieve results. It sits within the field sales, collections and customer service area.

Key responsibilities

• Manage your own portfolio of customer accounts across Sydney.
• Conduct residential door-to-door visits and engage customers face-to-face.
• Negotiate repayment arrangements and resolve outstanding accounts.
• Build rapport, understand customer circumstances and identify suitable solutions.
• Follow up customers by phone and maintain accurate account records.
• Work independently to meet portfolio and performance targets.

Required profile

• Open to candidates from field sales, door-to-door sales, collections, customer service or other customer-facing backgrounds.
• Confidence approaching and engaging customers face-to-face.
• Strong communication, negotiation and relationship-building skills.
• Resilience and the ability to handle challenging conversations professionally.
• Self-motivated, organised and results-focused.
• Ability to work independently and manage your own schedule.
• Previous debt collection experience is advantageous but not essential.

Required skills

• Confidence using mobile technology and customer management systems.
• Communication, negotiation and relationship-building skills.
