Feed Hand - Mungindi Feedlot

About the role

The JBS Mungindi Feedlot team is looking for a motivated Feed Hand to play an essential role in the daily feeding operations of the feedlot. The position is full-time on a 10 days on / 4 days off roster, at an entry-level rate starting at $29.50 per hour. The Mungindi team lives locally in the rural communities of Mungindi and Talwood and is responsible for all feedlot operations.

Key responsibilities

• Help ensure cattle are fed on time by undertaking vehicle checks, batching and delivering feed rations
• Process and receive hay
• Adhere to company policies and procedures
• Additional duties may be assigned by the Supervisor or Leading Hand as required

Required profile

• Proven experience working in a similar environment
• Ability to work unsupervised as well as within a team
• Sound knowledge and understanding of safe work practices
• Ability to work in accordance with a 10 days on / 4 days off roster

Required skills

• Mechanical aptitude; experience operating trucks, front-end loaders and other machinery is advantageous
• Ability to prioritise and multi-task
• Basic computer skills
• Good work ethic and willingness to share information and skills
