Farm Manager - Dairy Farms, Tasmania

About the role

Aurora Dairies, which operates 50 dairy farms across south-eastern Australia, is seeking expressions of interest for experienced Farm Managers for its dairy farms in Tasmania. The role is a hands-on leadership position overseeing day-to-day farm activities and contributing to the ongoing performance, development and success of the business.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and develop the farm team to achieve operational and performance objectives
• Manage day-to-day livestock, pasture and farm operations
• Plan and coordinate seasonal activities and workloads
• Monitor animal health, welfare and production outcomes
• Manage farm resources, equipment, contractors and suppliers
• Maintain high standards of safety, compliance and environmental management
• Identify opportunities to improve productivity, efficiency and profitability
• Work closely with senior management to deliver business and operational goals
• Maintain accurate farm records and report on key performance indicators

Required profile

• Proven experience in a Farm Manager or senior farm leadership role
• Strong livestock and/or dairy farming experience
• Demonstrated ability to lead, coach and develop a team
• Practical, commercially minded and passionate about agriculture
• Ability to work independently and make sound operational decisions
• Hands-on approach and commitment to continuous improvement

Required skills

• Excellent planning, organisation and problem-solving skills
• Strong understanding of animal welfare, farm safety and compliance
