Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner

About the role

Centacare North Queensland is seeking an experienced Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner for its Family Relationship Centre in Townsville. This is a permanent, full-time, practice-focused role supporting families through parenting arrangements, care arrangements, property matters and separation decisions, always prioritising the best interests of children and young people.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct client intake, risk and needs assessments
• Facilitate family dispute resolution and mediation processes
• Support parents to develop practical, child-focused parenting arrangements
• Apply child-inclusive and culturally responsive practice frameworks
• Ensure compliance with the Family Law Act and FDRP Regulations
• Maintain professional standards and FDR accreditation
• Engage with community and sector stakeholders and contribute to a collaborative team culture

Required profile

• Tertiary qualification in Psychology, Social Work, Law or FDR/Mediation
• Accreditation (or eligibility) as a Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner
• Experience in child-focused dispute resolution practice
• Strong understanding of legislative and professional obligations
• Commitment to ethical, culturally safe service delivery
• Applicants must have appropriate work rights in Australia

What we offer

• Starting salary of $105,000 per annum, plus $2,500 above award payment each year and a sign-on bonus
