Facilities Manager – Hotel Engineering Leadership

About the role

The Facilities Manager will act as the operational second‑in‑command to the Director of Engineering, leading day‑to‑day maintenance and facilities operations for Sofitel Sydney Wentworth, a luxury five‑star hotel.

Key responsibilities

• Provide operational leadership and step in for the Director of Engineering when absent.
• Lead the Engineering team in preventative and reactive maintenance of plant, equipment and building services.
• Oversee contractors, service providers and maintenance works, ensuring quality, safety and regulatory compliance.
• Collaborate with hotel departments to address maintenance needs while minimizing guest disruption.
• Support asset management, capital projects, sustainability initiatives and continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Previous experience in hotel engineering, facilities management or maintenance leadership, preferably in a luxury or large‑scale property.
• Proven ability to lead and develop an engineering or maintenance team.
• Hands‑on, solutions‑focused approach with strong decision‑making in a fast‑paced environment.
• Flexibility to work a rotating roster, including weekends and public holidays.
