External Auditor - Senior Associate, Private Clients

About the role

PwC Australia is hiring a Senior Associate in its Private Clients team to deliver high-quality external audit services. The role ensures compliance with regulatory requirements and strengthens financial reporting across industries, from small, fast-growing companies to large entities.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in planning and executing external audits of financial statements in line with regulatory and professional standards.
• Carry out substantive testing and detailed audit procedures to identify risks and ensure accuracy.
• Evaluate internal controls and financial processes to support audit objectives.
• Prepare clear audit documentation, reports and findings for clients and senior team members.
• Identify and communicate audit issues, working with clients to resolve financial reporting challenges.
• Take part in continuous improvement activities to improve audit efficiency and quality.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of experience in external audit; ideally one year as a Senior Auditor or equivalent with exposure to private clients and owner-managed businesses.
• Bachelor's degree in commerce or finance, with progress toward or completion of a recognised CA qualification.
• Ability to analyse financial information, identify risks and apply professional judgement.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills, with a willingness to learn from and support senior colleagues.
• Foundational knowledge of auditing standards, financial reporting frameworks and regulatory requirements.
