Experienced Engineer - Roads & Highways

About the role

SMEC is seeking an Experienced Engineer to join its Roads & Highways team in Perth. You will contribute to the planning, design and delivery of critical transport infrastructure across Western Australia, working alongside industry‑leading specialists.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver high‑quality analysis and design outcomes that meet technical standards and client requirements.
• Independently undertake key technical tasks across multiple road and highway projects.
• Apply project management principles to support on‑time, on‑budget delivery.
• Prepare technical reports and proposals for small to medium‑size projects.
• Monitor project scope and risks while utilising business systems effectively.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships, both internally and externally.
• Collaborate within a diverse, multi‑disciplinary team environment.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
• 1‑6 years of experience in road, highway or transport infrastructure engineering.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team.
