Executive Manager, Regulatory Affairs

About the role

IAG, the largest general insurance group in Australia and New Zealand, is looking for an Executive Manager, Regulatory Affairs to lead its enterprise approach to regulatory engagement. The role shapes how IAG builds trusted relationships with regulators and navigates a complex external environment, partnering with senior leaders to provide insight on emerging regulatory developments and strengthen regulatory capability. It is a permanent full-time position based in Sydney or Melbourne.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the development and execution of IAG's enterprise regulatory affairs and engagement strategy.
• Build and maintain trusted relationships with key regulators, industry bodies and external stakeholders.
• Advise senior leaders on emerging regulatory risks, trends, developments and opportunities.
• Develop and enhance regulatory intelligence capabilities using data and insights to inform business decisions and risk management.
• Lead, coach and develop a high-performing regulatory affairs team.

Required profile

• Significant leadership experience in Regulatory Affairs, Regulatory Strategy or a related function in a highly regulated financial services environment.
• Demonstrated experience engaging with regulators and external stakeholders, especially within prudential and conduct frameworks.
• Proven ability to turn complex regulatory developments into clear business actions and outcomes.
• Exceptional stakeholder management skills, able to influence senior leaders and align diverse groups.

Required skills

• Strong understanding of the Australian regulatory landscape, including APRA and ASIC.
• Strong analytical capability and curiosity to challenge existing approaches.
