Executive Manager, Disruption Management

About the role

nbn is looking for an Executive Manager, Disruption Management, based in Melbourne. The role reports to the Executive General Manager, Resilience & Asset Management and leads the approach to navigating uncertainty and responding to disruptive events and crises. It guides the design, development, delivery and assurance of the Disruption Management Framework, bringing together the organisation's Crisis Management and Emergency Management systems to strengthen enterprise-wide preparedness and resilience.

Key responsibilities

• Work with executives, senior leaders, business units and external stakeholders to build trusted partnerships and support coordinated decision-making during high-impact events.
• Lead programs that prepare and enable the Integrated Crisis Management Team and divisional Emergency Management Teams, giving them the clarity, capability and confidence to respond when it matters most.

Required profile

• Significant leadership experience in crisis and emergency management, cyber resilience, business continuity, disaster management or security risk management.
• Proven track record of designing and leading complex programs that bring cross-functional teams together.
• Thoughtful, inclusive leader who builds trusted relationships and communicates clearly in complex situations.
• Advanced communication, negotiation and influencing skills, able to engage with executives, Board-level stakeholders and external partners.
• Current security clearance, or ability to reactivate or obtain one within the probation period.
• Comfortable with after-hours on-call requirements.
• Full working rights in Australia; the role is permanent and full-time.
