About the role
We are seeking an Executive Assistant to provide high‑level support to the Deputy Secretary, Network Design and Integration, within the Department of Transport and Planning in Melbourne. The role involves managing information flow, stakeholder liaison and ensuring the Deputy Secretary’s time is optimised in a fast‑moving government environment.
Key responsibilities
- Coordinate, monitor and report on activities for the Deputy Secretary’s office.
- Manage diary, schedule meetings and prepare briefing materials.
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders, including ministerial offices and transport agencies.
- Ensure accurate and timely information is shared with government authorities.
- Identify and mitigate risks, meet strict deadlines and support continuous improvement of business practices.
Required profile
- Proven experience navigating parliamentary and government processes.
- Strong interpersonal and stakeholder‑management abilities.
- Excellent organisational skills with the capacity to work independently and handle competing priorities.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure, adapt to change and provide sound advice.

- Advanced competency in Microsoft Word.
