Estimator - Plaster and Metal Formwork

About the role

Nexterra Pty Ltd, a provider of plaster and metal formwork services, is hiring a full-time, on-site Estimator based in the Greater Brisbane area. The Estimator prepares detailed cost estimates for plaster and metal formwork projects, covering labour, materials and subcontractor services.

Key responsibilities

• Review drawings and specifications and carry out quantity take-offs
• Obtain and analyse supplier and subcontractor quotes
• Prepare tender submissions and budget estimates
• Work with project managers, engineers and site teams to clarify scope, assess risks and update estimates for project changes
• Maintain accurate cost databases and monitor market pricing trends
• Support negotiations so projects are delivered on time and within budget

Required profile

• Strong construction estimating skills, including quantity take-offs, cost analysis and tender preparation
• Knowledge of construction methods, materials and industry standards, especially plastering, metal formwork and structural trades
• Effective communication and collaboration with project managers, engineers, suppliers and site teams
• High attention to detail, strong organisation and ability to handle multiple bids and deadlines
• Relevant tertiary qualification or trade background in construction, quantity surveying or a related field is highly regarded
• Familiarity with the Australian construction market, local codes, safety requirements and contract structures is an advantage

Required skills

• Proficiency with estimating and construction software such as Excel and cost estimation tools
• Solid numerical and analytical abilities
