Estimator - Commercial Construction

About the role

An established Queensland builder is hiring an estimator to join two junior estimators and report to the General Manager. You will price commercial builds, refurbishments and maintenance projects up to $20M, with a strong pipeline of work ahead.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare estimates and tender submissions.
• Complete quantity take-offs from plans and specifications.
• Source and negotiate subcontractor and supplier pricing.
• Build and maintain subcontractor relationships.
• Work with Project Managers and Contract Administrators on project handovers.
• Identify cost risks and value-engineering opportunities.
• Carry out site visits depending on project location, local or regional.

Required profile

• At least 2 years' estimating or quantity surveying experience in the Australian construction industry.
• Experience tendering commercial construction projects valued up to $10M.
• Relevant construction qualification, trade background or equivalent industry experience.
• Strong understanding of construction methods, costs and subcontractor pricing.

Required skills

• Hands-on experience with Cubit estimating software (essential).
• Numerical skills, attention to detail and negotiation ability.
