Estimation Manager - Blasting and Painting

About the role

Veolia Environmental Services is seeking an Estimation Manager in Henderson, reporting to the Manager, Asset Maintenance and Preservation. The role leads estimating and tendering for industrial blasting, painting and protective coating projects, and covers estimating, tendering, blasting and painting operations and project delivery. Familiarity with hot works, fabrication or welding is highly regarded.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and develop the estimating function, prioritising activities according to the tender pipeline and operational requirements
• Prepare accurate, competitive estimates and tender submissions by analysing scopes, specifications, drawings and contracts
• Calculate labour, materials, subcontractor costs, plant, overheads and margins, and identify technical, commercial, HSEQ and schedule risks
• Maintain pricing databases, cost benchmarks and estimating tools
• Lead tender handovers to operations and project teams, monitor actual costs against estimates and run post-project reviews
• Keep estimating and tender records organised and version controlled, and ensure compliance with Veolia requirements, client obligations and legislation
• Liaise with clients, operations, HSEQ, finance, procurement and suppliers

Required profile

• Direct estimating and tendering experience in abrasive blasting, surface preparation, industrial painting and protective coatings
• Practical knowledge of blasting and painting methods, productivity rates, coating systems, materials, access, containment and quality requirements
• Experience preparing detailed cost estimates, budgets and tender submissions
• Relevant trade or technical qualification, or substantial industry experience
• Leadership, planning and stakeholder management skills
• Current Australian driver's licence; exposure to hot works, fabrication, welding or mechanical repairs is highly regarded

Required skills

• Proficiency in estimating systems and Microsoft Office
• Ability to interpret coating specifications, technical drawings, scopes and contracts
