Environmental Manager, Energy from Waste

About the role

The Environmental Manager will lead environmental compliance, performance and sustainability outcomes at ACCIONA's Energy‑from‑Waste facility in Western Australia. This role ensures the plant operates within all licences, regulatory obligations and corporate standards while supporting safe and efficient operations.

Key responsibilities

• Lead environmental compliance across licences, approvals, regulatory reporting and regulator engagement.
• Manage environmental monitoring programmes including air emissions (CEMS), water, noise, odour, waste and residue management, analysing data trends and driving performance improvements.
• Develop and maintain Environmental Management Plans, ISO 14001‑compliant systems, legislative registers and compliance frameworks.
• Lead incident reporting, regulator notifications, investigations, root‑cause analysis and corrective‑action implementation.
• Plan and conduct environmental audits, compliance inspections and assurance activities, managing non‑conformances and continuous improvement.
• Act as primary liaison for regulators, clients, communities and project stakeholders, handling communications, training and risk escalation.

Required profile

• Degree in Environmental Science, Engineering or a related discipline.

Required skills

• Knowledge of ISO 14001 environmental management systems.
• Experience with Continuous Emission Monitoring Systems (CEMS) and environmental monitoring of air, water, noise, odour and waste.
