Environmental Advisor

About the role

CPP, a high-voltage infrastructure provider and member of Quanta Services, is growing across renewable energy and transmission and is seeking an experienced Environmental Advisor for its Health, Safety & Environment team. The role partners with project and construction teams on major transmission, substation and renewable energy projects, giving practical environmental advice and making sure environmental obligations are managed throughout project delivery. It suits someone with a few years of experience in construction or energy who wants to build capability in environmental approvals, compliance and construction environmental management.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out regular site inspections to make sure environmental obligations are met
• Liaise with internal stakeholders so planned works comply with the environmental management plan
• Read and interpret development approvals, environmental impact statements and other project information, then develop or modify project construction environmental management plans
• Make sure all activities comply with the specifications, codes and standards forming part of the contract and environmental legal obligations

Required profile

• Tertiary qualification in Environmental Science, Environmental Management or a related discipline
• 4-5 years of experience in an environmental advisory or environmental compliance role in construction, infrastructure, utilities, energy or land rehabilitation
• Current Australian driver's licence and willingness to travel to project sites

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of environmental legislation, approvals and environmental management systems
• Strong experience of erosion and sediment control management for construction, including IECA procedures
• Experience developing and implementing Environmental Management Plans
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills
