Enterprise Architect – Professional Services (Google Cloud)

About the role

Google Cloud’s Professional Services team helps enterprises design and implement cloud solutions that drive business transformation. As an Enterprise Architect you will act as a trusted advisor to executive stakeholders, translating complex business needs into secure, scalable cloud architectures. You will lead discovery workshops, create capability maps and define long‑term technical road‑maps across multiple Australian locations.

Key responsibilities

• Build and maintain strategic relationships with executive stakeholders, advising on technology strategy and translating ambiguous enterprise needs into structured technical road‑maps.
• Lead discovery workshops and business capability‑mapping sessions to define solution constraints, operational goals and implementation sequencing.
• Oversee the design and execution of cloud‑native system architectures using domain‑driven design, event‑driven patterns and secure integration blueprints.
• Guide the technical development of repeatable solutions, application‑modernisation frameworks and AI orchestrations while ensuring compliance with industry standards.
• Provide technical direction and mentorship to cross‑functional delivery teams, driving agile governance, code reviews and architecture decision documentation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 10 + years of experience in professional services or customer‑facing roles designing enterprise cloud architectures.
• Proven experience writing software in Java, Python or Go and delivering multi‑system projects to executive audiences.

Required skills

• Google Cloud Platform (GCP) architecture and services.
• Java, Python, Go programming languages.
• Design of cloud‑native distributed systems and AI model integration.
• Data governance, identity and access management, encryption and other IT security practices.
• Infrastructure‑as‑code, CI/CD pipelines and container orchestration (e.g., Kubernetes).
• Domain‑driven design, event‑driven architecture and secure integration patterns.
