Enrolled Nurse – Aged Care

About the role

Southern Cross Care is hiring an Enrolled Nurse in Victor Harbor, South Australia, on a permanent part-time basis of 22.8 hours per fortnight. The nurse supports, guides and supervises Personal Carers so that they can deliver a holistic, person-centred service aligned with the "Better for Life" framework, working in consultation with a Registered Nurse.

Key responsibilities

• Promote resident independence, social engagement and meaningful activities while following infection control protocols
• Deliver clinical care, update progress notes, administer medications safely and work with Allied Health and Lifestyle staff to support resident wellness and re-enablement
• Mentor Personal Carers, help Registered Nurses organise workloads, monitor resource use and contribute to quality improvement

Required profile

• Diploma of Nursing with current AHPRA registration as an Enrolled Nurse
• Current First Aid (HLTAID011) and CPR (HLTAID009) certificates
• Previous experience as an Enrolled Nurse in aged care is desirable
• Ability to communicate clearly with older people and write clear progress notes
• Strong time management and willingness to support other staff
• Good knowledge of dementia care, including residents with challenging behaviour
• Understanding of Aged Care Standards as they relate to accreditation
