ENL Curriculum Committee Member (Grades K-5)

About the role

The Buffalo Public Schools is seeking a qualified teacher to serve on the English as a New Language (ENL) Curriculum Committee for grades K‑5 during the 2026‑2027 school year. The committee member will work from September 2026 to June 2027, collaborating with district leaders to shape ENL instruction.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with the Division of Multilingual Education and curriculum administrators to develop frameworks and content for English Language Learners.
• Complete assigned tasks within set timelines, including the design of standalone and integrated ENL instructional materials.
• Participate in professional development activities related to ENL curriculum and standards.
• Provide input on the implementation of Next Generation Learning Standards, Commissioner Regulations Part 154, and the Blueprint for ELL/MLL Success.

Required profile

• Current NY State teacher certification in TESOL.
• Employed as a probationary or tenured teacher with Buffalo Public Schools.
• Demonstrated knowledge of the Next Generation Learning Standards, Commissioner Regulations Part 154, Units of Studies, and the ELL/MLL Success Blueprint.
• Experience teaching in the K‑5 grade band; prior committee service is preferred.
