Engineer / Engineering Officer - Distribution & Sub-transmission

About the role

Ausgrid, the largest electricity distributor on Australia's east coast, is looking for an Engineering Officer or Engineer to support its planned maintenance program across primary and secondary systems in the distribution and sub-transmission network. Based at the Oatley depot and working in the Major Substations and Operational Engineering team for Southern and Eastern Sydney, the role plans and coordinates maintenance with maintenance, capital and operational colleagues to reduce network risk and keep the network safe, reliable and performing well. It is a permanent full-time position with hybrid work arrangements.

Key responsibilities

• Manage assigned asset maintenance, corrective and defect tasks and replacement projects
• Carry out desktop assessments, site visits and consult with customers, operators, field supervisors, technicians, engineers and schedulers
• Review tasks and set risk ratings, isolations and permits needed for rectification
• Use enterprise asset management systems such as SAP to manage asset records, notifications and work orders
• Use staff scheduling and job planning systems such as the Works Management System (WMS)
• Produce Network Access Requests (NARs), job packs, resource requests and NECF outage notifications
• Maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders

Required profile

• Engineering Diploma or Engineering Degree (or equivalent) giving full membership of Engineers Australia
• Demonstrated experience in an engineering, technical or asset management role in the electricity distribution industry or a related field
• Knowledge of relevant standards, procedures, regulations, rules and safe work practices
• Experience preparing technical and project documentation
• Current Class C driver licence
• Full Australian work rights
