Employment & Workplace Relations Lawyer (2-4 PQE)

About the role

Clayton Utz is looking for a lawyer to join its Sydney Workplace Relations, Employment & Safety (WRES) team, working closely with Partner Amanda Lyras. The team advises on strategic and sensitive employment matters, employee disputes across courts and tribunals, whistleblowing, workplace investigations, discrimination and harassment, post-employment restraints, employment aspects of corporate transactions, WHS and modern slavery. The firm offers structured career progression, mentorship, learning and leadership programs and client secondments.

Key responsibilities

• Advise on strategic and sensitive employment matters and employee disputes across courts and tribunals
• Handle whistleblowing, workplace investigations, discrimination and harassment, and enforcement of post-employment restraints
• Work on the employment aspects of corporate transactions, WHS and modern slavery
• Contribute to business development through networking events, seminars, thought leadership and client relationship building

Required profile

• At least 2 years PQE with experience across a range of employment law and workplace relations matters in a reputable commercial law firm
• Strong academic record
• Ability to manage a diverse workload autonomously while remaining a collaborative team member
• Genuine enthusiasm for employment law
• Commitment to continuous professional development
