Employment & Industrial Relations Lawyer – 3‑Month Contract

About the role

Elevate is seeking an experienced Employment & Industrial Relations Lawyer to join a high‑performing in‑house legal team of a leading Australian energy company on a 3‑month assignment. You will work closely with senior business stakeholders, providing strategic advice on complex employment, industrial relations and workplace matters.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic legal advice on employment, industrial relations and workplace relations issues.
• Advise senior leaders on complex people‑related matters across the business.
• Support management of psychosocial risk and workplace conduct matters.
• Manage and advise on employment‑related disputes, claims and litigation.
• Conduct and support workplace and internal investigations.
• Provide legal guidance on whistleblower matters and associated risk issues.
• Partner with HR, People & Culture and business leaders to deliver commercially focused legal solutions.
• Ensure compliance with applicable employment and workplace legislation.

Required profile

• Minimum 8 years post‑qualification experience (PQE) in employment law.
• Strong background in Employment Law, Industrial Relations, Workplace Relations and Employee Relations.
• Demonstrated experience managing employment litigation, disputes and claims.
• Experience conducting or advising on workplace investigations and whistleblower matters.
• Ability to provide pragmatic, commercially focused advice in a fast‑paced corporate environment.
